Paid off my car in full while in chapter 13 bankruptcy. The amount I paid was the Kelly blue book value of the car at the time of filing the bankruptcy, on top of the payments I had already been making on the car for 2 years before that. When bankruptcy was dismissed, they repossessed the car, without notice because of they’re greedy. Kelly blue book value: $15,786.34 + $1,029.35 interest + $4,000.00 car payments x 2 years = $20,815.69 total, paid in full, for a used 2015 Toyota Camry. GM financial took the car, without warning, because they wanted an additional $4,000+ for it. They just took it so that they could resell it and make more money from it. On top of that, threatening to put a repo on my credit. They’re wicked, slimy and greedy.

Was late making payment and then when I went to pay online it wasn't available so I figured next day do Western Union well I couldn't because that day they repossessed vehicle. I got it back but cost me extra $500 I had to borrow. I know on time payments is what is expected but reality is we live in San Diego and everything is just hard and prices rising can't make it anymore it seems these days the struggle is real. And late fees and repos and lock outs just make everything so much harder

Its quite sad that there are so many 1 star reviews that state they could give 0 stars if that option were available...
I have had absolutely zero issues with GM Financial, and love their services! I have been with them since October 2020 - I have been able to skip 2 months and had them add those to the remainder of my balance without it effecting my credit, they have also let me change my due date so it was easier on me monthly to make my bill.
Their customer service has always been more than helpful and have been able to answer difficult questions for me, and when they did not know the answer they researched it or went to their higher up and called me back
I am going to be paying off my loan soon, but if I ever buy another vehicle (That will absolutely be a Chevy) I would want to go through GM Financial again 1000%

I am very upset with your employees. They keep messing up my extensions. The first lady said I fill out the application and make sure everything is good. And I did. So I get a call saying I have to pay. I'm sorry I don't have money . I have a zero remaining balance in my account. I missed 3 weeks of work because of covid. I need you to realize this is becoming a habit on your side. The second lady I spoke to around the 27 or 28 said she has to open a new one because the other one the lady didn't finish or did the application right!!!!!! So I'm very very angry!!!! The second lady said my 30 shouldn't be in red and still not hit my credit. That it will start over. I didn't not receive a pin from the second lady. By the time I called back you're closed already . So I am furious two errors on your side and the employees can't get it together the first time. I think someone needs to get fired or taken on customer service for extensions. Because not only did 1 person failed but 2.

Once upon a time, I was so excited to drive off in my new car, thanks to a lease from GM Financial. To make life easy, I set up automatic payments. Everything seemed perfect. But life happens, and I needed to adjust my payment date to better match when my paycheck lands in my account.
GM Financial told me, "Sure, no problem! Just cancel your autopay, and we'll set you up with the new date." So I did my part, trusting they'd do theirs.
Then one day, I noticed extra money in my bank account. "Hmm, where did this come from?" I wondered. My heart sank when I realized GM Financial hadn't taken any payments for two whole months! I scrambled to call them, but every time, it was like talking to a brick wall. They said they'd told me my payments were late, but I never got any warnings—not a single email, text, or call.
The most heartbreaking part? My nearly perfect 808 credit score plummeted down to the low 500s. It was like watching a tower of blocks I'd carefully built get knocked over. Even though I never missed another payment, it was like none of that mattered. GM Financial had let me down big time.
If this was a fairy tale, there'd be a happy ending. But it's not, and I'm left really disappointed in GM Financial. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. The end.

This is my first review ever! Don’t do it! Chevy and gm dealers can go through other banks. Gm financial are more like scammer and con artists. They don’t work with you, give you false info and when u ask for a supervisor they say they will call and don’t. Ive been waiting a week and now my lease is up and they have shown no honesty, loyalty or effort to contact me. Never again

Called customer service in Spanish (for my mom) to see if I can pay her total payoff. Verified all the info we needed and when the time came to ask if we can pay total, he said it can be done through app. My mom wanted to pay through the phone instead. He said he had to verify first if he was able to get that done. He then verified he was able to, but he kept repeating "vamos a verificar" which means "Let's verify". He then asks, "how much do you want to pay?" My mom said," I want to pay the whole total that's left." He asked "do you know how much that is?" My mom told him he should be able to view it on his side. Then again he said the same thing he kept repeating "vamos a verificar". I had to hang up, it's sad because I called GM financial services but it seems like she was going to be scammed. Please check your workers !! He sounded Dominican republican

What a completely incompetent company. They reported a late payment towards the end of my lease on my credit and it was not even close to late. They also took an extra payment on my last payment and it’s been over 30 days and still no refund. I am done with Chevy.
